HUNGRY.
HOW YOU SHOULD FEEL AFTER A HARD DAY'S WORK
Inspired by the grit, determination & teamwork of a group of Western Canadian commercial fishermen, our team embodies the same set of values in our approach to electrical construction.
HMT USA is motivated to provide exceptional customer service and definitive results.

THE HMT TEAM

Brian Hudak
President/CEO
Brian began his electrical career 42 years ago in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, wiring houses at age 18. He climbed his way through two of the largest high-rise electrical contractors in Vancouver before relocating with his family to San Diego in 2000 to run the Hi-Rise Division for a local electrical contractor. In 2007, he founded HMT Electric, which was re-envisioned as HMT USA in 2024. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a respected electrical contractor focused on serving San Diego. He has held every position in the field, from Apprentice to Superintendent, and in the office, from Project Manager to CEO. Brian has fine-tuned his approach of field constructability paired with Design-Build engineering to drive HMT’s growth, innovation, and reputation for excellence. His years as a rugby player instilled in him the importance of teamwork, decisive leadership, and the unyielding drive required to perform. He has served on the Board of Directors for over 15 years with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), including terms as Treasurer, Vice President, and President. Committed to the future of the trade, he also sits on the Board of the Electrical Training Institute of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Outside of work, he enjoys off-road rock crawling, salmon and fly fishing, and catching as many sporting events as he can.
Troy Wallin
Director of Operations
Troy graduated from the University of Minnesota and grinded his way up to a master electrician and then electrical contractor before journeying to Seattle in 2008. There, he developed his extensive 25-year experience in multi-family and high-rise construction that he brought with him to HMT in 2021. With a deep commitment to building high-performing, people-first teams, Troy empowers individuals by providing the support, resources, and the trust they need to thrive. His philosophy of idea meritocracy drives innovation and collaboration through his teams to grow future leaders within them. When Troy isn’t bringing out the best in his projects and coworkers, he is traversing mountains as an avid hiker, backpacker, and alpine skier or showing off his adorable King Charles Spaniel Griz.

Justin Morton
Director of Field Operations
Justin was born and raised in Wild & Wonderful West Virginia where he began his career as an apprentice wireman in the IBEW after attending WVU amongst the faithful Mountaineers. With over 20 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, Justin has climbed the ranks across field and operational management positions, driving excellence at every level. He embodies and advocates that candor is the cornerstone of growth and operational efficiency within a high-performing team. This philosophy has allowed him to foster collaboration, employ strategic problem-solving, and sustain excellence throughout his diverse and talented teams. Since becoming a San Diego local with his wife in 2015, you can find him on the golf course (hopefully, in the fairway) or encouraging his son’s athletics at the dojo and ice rink.
